In 1994, Jose "Pepe" Campos and his family opened a small family-operated Mexican restaurant called "Mi Lupita" in the Central Plaza of Ballwin, Missouri. His eagerness to share his own particular flavor of Mexico only outweighed by his warm and charismatic persona, Jose "Pepe" Campos was instantly turning new customers into familiar faces. Pepe treated the people of Ballwin to the distinct flavors and spices of his home town, Zacatecas, fused into familiar traditional Mexican cuisine.
By 2012, Pepe was ready for a new adventure. Agreeing to sell his restaurant of 18 years to his sister and her family, Leticia and Sergio Sanchez took the reigns of Mi Lupita alongside their son, David. As of 2023, the Sanchez family continues to bring their community the same sort of fabulous flavors and dazzling dishes that they've come to expect over the years.
